As a result of Covid we have been forced to revise the shop hours until further notice. They are currently:
Shop: Weekdays 7am–12.30pm, Saturday 7-10.30am Sunday 8.30-10.30am.
Post Office: Mon and Thursday 9am-12.30pm, Tuesday and Friday 9-11.30am.
We are also on the look out for new volunteers to enable us to return to our normal hours, as some of our long serving members are unable to participate due to the current circumstances. We are delighted with the fact that we have welcomed new members to the team, including young people keen to make a positive impact in the community as well as new residents who are working in the shop as a way of getting to know people and establishing links in the village.
In addition we are delighted that during these challenging times the shop has been a focal point of the village and we have been busier than ever!
Click here to download the latest information leaflet, published in 2019, and see below for a link to the Shop's page on the Tytherington Parish Council website.
Since 2018, Tytherington Village shop has been at the heart of the community and village life; run 'by the community for the community'.
Established under the provisions of the Plunkett Foundation to support rural communities, the shop is totally dependent on the hard work and commitment of community volunteers.
The shop opens seven days a week to provide a wide range of provisions and friendly service with good parking and easy access. The integral Post Office is also a crucial element within the community and opens on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.
As a reflection of the success of the first 20 years, the shop was refurbished in 2018 in preparation for the next 20 years!
In recognition of the work by both our founder members and current volunteers, we would also like to take this opportunity to:
1. Raise people's awareness of the shop and all it has to offer; the more it is used the wider the stock that we can carry
2. Appeal for more volunteers to ensure that we can both maintain and expand our service
