Memorial Tree Planting for Jerry Dicker

The Friends of Filnore Woods are planting a tree in Filnore Woods as a memorial to Jerry Dicker. He spent many years looking after the woods and was instrumental in setting up the Friends of Filnore Woods volunteer group. Sadly, Jerry passed away a little over twelve months ago and we thought that planting a tree in his memory would be a fitting and lasting gesture.
The planting will be at 11.00am on Saturday 1st February. The planting site will be at the 'Viewpoint' area up near post 7.
If you are unfamiliar with the woods :-
Cross the field from the leisure centre car park to the woods entrance.
Turn left on the path that goes past the toolshed and over the stream.
Twenty yards on you reach two paths on the right.
Take the right hand one up the hill and this will lead you to the 'Viewpoint'.
We have had a lot of rain lately and this has made the paths muddy and slippery. Take care when using them and wear appropriate footwear.
