Tortworth Forest Centre, the community-led arboretum dedicated to restoring a historic woodland, is excited to announce the launch of its 10th-anniversary celebrations. On 26th April 2025, the centre will mark a decade of transformation, community building, and connecting people with nature.

Since its establishment in 2015, Tortworth Forest Centre has grown from a neglected woodland into a flourishing community space accessible to the public. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of dedicated volunteers, the arboretum has been lovingly restored, with paths cleared, trees planted, and wildlife habitats protected.

The milestone anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the centre’s incredible journey while inviting the local community to envision the next 10 years.

A Decade of Restoration and Connection
Over the coming months, Tortworth Forest Centre will look back on its achievements through a series of events, blogs, and retrospectives, highlighting:

• The environmental restoration that has brought the woodland back to life.
• The volunteers whose passion and hard work have shaped the arboretum.
• The many individuals and groups who have found support, peace, and connection through their time at the centre.

Building for the Future
The centre is not only celebrating its past but also looking ahead to its future. Community input will play a key role in shaping the arboretum’s next chapter. What new facilities, events, or opportunities would local residents like to see? How can Tortworth better engage with and serve the community?

“Our 10th anniversary is a time to reflect on how far we’ve come and to ask how we can grow together in the next decade,” said Katy Radel, Event and Venue Manager for the project. “This arboretum belongs to everyone, and we’re excited to hear ideas that will help us continue to thrive as a space for both people and the environment.”

Anniversary Events and Initiatives
To celebrate this milestone, Tortworth Forest Centre will host a variety of activities, including:

• Tree Planting with Local Businesses: A special initiative inviting 10 local businesses to sponsor and plant trees as part of a five-year commitment to the arboretum.
• The 10th Anniversary Celebration: A community event on 26th April 2025 featuring family-friendly activities, guided tours, and reflections on the centre’s journey so far.
• Volunteer and Visitor Stories: A spotlight on the people who’ve helped make Tortworth what it is today.
Tortworth Forest Centre is inviting all members of the community to share their memories, photos, and suggestions as part of the celebrations.
