Get ready for a spook-tacular Halloween half term at Old Down Country Park!
Visitors can enjoy spooky decorations, slime making, pumpkin carving and visits from the Halloween mascot, who will be handing out sweets Monday–Saturday, plus a spooky scavenger hunt around the park!
Activities include slime making in the Crafty Cabin, where children can get creative and make their own spooky slime, as well as pumpkin carving for £4 per pumpkin, including the pumpkin to take home.

5.30pm: Thornbury Round Table Fireworks
Mundy Playing Fields
Thornbury Round Table are proud to again host the Thornbury fireworks display.
Historically, this event sells out entirely in advance. Save money and guarantee entry by purchasing advance tickets online via the link below. All ticket sales directly support local causes.

9.30am: Remembrance Sunday Parade
Thornbury Town Hall
The parade will take place between Thornbury Town Hall and St Mary’s Church.
All Armed Forces serving personnel and veterans are invited to join the parade and attend the service. Form up on the High Street at 09:30 with March off at 10:00 to St Mary’s church.
The service will begin at 10:30 with wreath laying and 2 minutes silence at 11:00. Following the service the parade will reform and march back up the High Street.
12noon: Lest We Forget
The Armstrong, Thornbury
Sunday 8th November 2026 | 12pm–3pm
Join us after the Remembrance Parade and church service for a special afternoon of remembrance, reflection and community.
Enjoy a relaxed finger buffet lunch with friends, family and members of the local community.
Tickets are £12 per person, including lunch, or if you wish to just pop in for a drink - this is fine too at no charge (donations welcome on the day).
The bar will be open to all, providing an opportunity to stay, socialise and share time together following the morning’s commemorations.
Throughout the afternoon, Cossham Hall will be open, featuring a small exhibition kindly provided by Thornbury Museum, remembering local heroes and their stories.
