The way we produce and use energy needs to change. We need a lot more energy from renewable sources like wind and solar to meet the UK’s climate targets. At the same time, it’s difficult for many people to keep their homes warm in winter, even though it’s essential for health and wellbeing. Staying warm in winter is a basic right for everyone.
Community-led energy projects keep benefits local – from cheaper energy bills to investment in local facilities. When communities lead energy projects, they create solutions that work for everyone – tackling both climate change and rising energy costs.
Climate Action Thornbury and Surrounding Areas (CATSA) are hosting an interactive workshop, which will be a space for local people to share thoughts on community energy in the area. CATSA has partnered with the Centre for Sustainable Energy who will help deliver this workshop.
The workshop will explore how Falfield, Cromhall and Tortworth can play a role in the UK’s national efforts to take climate action – thinking about what renewable energy could happen in your area and how it could benefit the local community.
The free workshop is aimed at anyone who lives or works in the Falfield, Cromhall and Tortworth area. Everyone is welcome - if you have an opinion on community energy, we want to hear it. You don’t need to know anything about community energy as there will be information provided during the workshop.
