Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir Concert

Saturday October 12 will be a big day for the 80 members of the popular Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir led by Ben England when they welcome the celebrated Bath Male Choir to The Castle School, Thornbury for a concert with music for everyone. There will also be a guest appearance from Castle Lads Choir who are also led by Ben England.
Bath Male Choir are conducted by Grenville Jones. They hit the headlines when they reached the finals of the BBCs ‘Last Choir Standing’ series and are one of the leading male choirs in the country. Recordings and tours including a visit to Japan three years ago have established them as a hugely popular concert choir and this October they head to Boston for their next concert tour.
The Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir meet every Thursday afternoon from 1-3pm at Thornbury United Reformed Church. The Good Afternoon Choirs are a project led by Grenville and there are now 10 across the West of England.
Tickets are available from Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir members or from the office on 01761 472468 priced £10 (under 12’s £2.50). The concert starts at 7.30pm with doors open from 7pm.
Members of the Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir have chosen two local organisations, PHASE Thornbury and Great Western Air Ambulance to benefit from their fundraising this year and there will be a retiring collection for the charities at the end of the concert.
