South Gloucestershire Business Forum (SGBF)

South Gloucestershire is a dynamic economic area with around 50 geographic clusters of commercial activity in the East and North fringes of Bristol and in more rural areas as well as in towns such as Yate and Thornbury. The SGBF aims to make it easier for businesses across these sites and across industries to do business with each other, helping to strengthen the economy by retaining talent and wealth.

Thornbury and District Probus Club

We exist to encourage friendship and companionship amongst retired Professional and Business men. We meet monthly at Bristol Golf Club for lunch followed by a speaker. We are not an organisation that exists to raise funds for charity, but we do voluntarily support a selected charity each year.
We hold three ladies lunches a year at local restaurants and a black tie dinner at Thornbury Castle. We also arrange an annual coach holiday for members and wives. To find out more please phone our secretary Peter Frost.

Thornbury Rotary Club

Thornbury Rotary Club has contributed to the life of the town and surrounding district since 1971, and has raised over £500,000 on behalf of many charities and local, national and international projects, charities and appeals.

We help and support our community by making use of members' personal skills and professional experience. Our high-visibility yellow jackets are a familiar sight at street events, the Carnival and many other local activities.

Rotary's biggest annual fundraiser is the Swimarathon - find out more at www.thornburyrotary.org/swimarathon.

Thornbury Rotary Swimarathon

Thornbury's Annual Community Charity Swim Event

For over 35 years, hundreds of Thornbury and District people have helped our Rotary Club to raise and donate over £400,000 by being sponsored to swim individual lengths in team relay for an hour.

The annual event is hosted by the Thornbury Leisure Centre, and has been generously supported financially or with services by many local companies large and small, enabling all individual sponsors' funds to be distributed.

Principal beneficieries are chosen each year by the Club President, and grants to other charities and worthy causes are also made.
