South Gloucestershire is a dynamic economic area with around 50 geographic clusters of commercial activity in the East and North fringes of Bristol and in more rural areas as well as in towns such as Yate and Thornbury. The SGBF aims to make it easier for businesses across these sites and across industries to do business with each other, helping to strengthen the economy by retaining talent and wealth.
We exist to encourage friendship and companionship amongst retired Professional and Business men. We meet monthly at Bristol Golf Club for lunch followed by a speaker. We are not an organisation that exists to raise funds for charity, but we do voluntarily support a selected charity each year.
We hold three ladies lunches a year at local restaurants and a black tie dinner at Thornbury Castle. We also arrange an annual coach holiday for members and wives. To find out more please phone our secretary Peter Frost.

Thornbury Rotary Club helps and supports our community by making use of members' personal skills and professional experience. We raise funds to donate to local, national and international projects and charities. Rotary's biggest annual fundraiser is the Swimarathon, more information is available at www.thornburyrotary.org/swimarathon.
We meet Wednesdays (excluding Bank Holiday weeks) at Eastwood Park, Falfield. On the first and third Wednesdays a 45-minute business meeting starts at 6.30pm. For alternate weeks there is normally a dinner meeting, with a guest speaker, at 7.30pm.
This new initiative is about making a difference in our local community and around the world, and about meeting and creating connections with people active (in whatever way) within the Thornbury community.
