Thornbury is lucky enough to have its own Fire Station with two engines and twenty retained firefighters.
They provide cover for the town and surrounding villages 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as part of Avon Fire and Rescue Service.
As well as fighting fires and responding to other emergencies, the team play a key role in promoting community safety, visiting homes, schools and community groups to offer free safety advice.
