Ukrainian Film Festival: Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors

Join us for the Ukrainian Film Festival, celebrating 35 years of Ukrainian Independence through a selection of contemporary documentaries, feature films and Ukrainian cinema classics.
The programme offers an opportunity to discover Ukraine’s history, culture, people and ongoing fight for freedom through film.
There are four films: two documentaries and two feature films.
14th September: Dovbush - one of Ukraine's most ambitious historical films, telling the story of the Carpathian Robin Hood.
21st September: A Second Breath - a documentary about Ukrainian veterans and servicemen and women who set out to conquer Kilimanjaro
27th September: Empowered - a film that explores the stories of seven remarkable Ukrainian women
29th September: Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors - Serhii Parajanov's iconic film, based on the novella by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky.
All screenings are free of charge (donations welcome) and films will be shown with English subtitles. Advance booking is required.
