Friends of Filnore Woods Work Morning
Filnore Woods, Thornbury
We will meet as usual near the tool store by the main wood entrance that's over the field from the Leisure Centre car park corner.
Work mornings are usually from 10am till 12pm on the second Sunday and fourth Wednesday of every month.
There are a variety of jobs to attend to;
Steps behind the allotment - minor repair
Steps down to the bridge - minor repairs
Still a few edging repairs in the valley path.
All of which will require some transporting of suitable lumber!
We've also considered opening up a couple of small areas;
- one by post 4 (where the post also needs to be re-erected), and
- a small area behind the allotment, where we might encourage bluebells to spread.
Once the bluebells have gone over we also need to clear along the front fence behind the allotment and also see about upgrading the fence.
The bench at the view point needs to be repaired, having been vandalised.
Plenty to do; we'll decide which to do when we see what the weather is like and how many we have.
