On the back of the successful revival of ‘Oklahoma!’ on the London stage, Thornbury Musical Theatre Group (TMTG) are delighted to be performing this more contemporary take on the classic musical. The cast and crew are well underway with rehearsals and preparations for what is shaping up to be an unmissable show.
‘Oklahoma!’ is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical, bursting with romance, rivalry, and unforgettable showstopping songs like Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, The Surrey with the Fringe on Top, and People Will Say We’re in Love. Set on the American frontier, it follows the spirited farm girl Laurey, charming cowboy Curly, and brooding farmhand Jud in a love triangle that plays out against the backdrop of a community on the brink of change.
Following the amazing success of ‘Made in Dagenham’ TMTG has attracted several new members for this production, two of whom take on the roles of Ado Annie and Curly.
‘Oklahoma!’ will be staged at the Olympus Theatre on the WISE Campus in Filton from 29th October to 1st November. Performances at 7.30pm on 29th, 30th and 31st October, and two performances on Saturday 1st November at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are available at the website below or 07516 270140 and start at £16.
