Pilning Open Flower Show
One of the few remaining local traditional flower shows, founded in 1895, takes place at St Peter’s School, Pilning (BS35 4JG) on Sat 29th August.
Visitors are welcomed from 2:15pm, and can enjoy the exhibits, homemade refreshments, a bumper raffle and entertaining auction of produce and donated items.
Admission for adults is £1, OAPs 50p and children free. All monies raised will go to local mental health charity ‘Moments’. The show’s competitions are free and open to anyone to enter. There are 75 classes and It’s not just flowers. Other sections include: vegetables, fruit, preserves, baking, photography, flower arranging, crafts, and classes just for children. There are cash prizes, certificates, and trophies to be won.
