Alveston Pump Track Launch
Lime Kiln Field, Alveston
A launch event to celebrate the opening of a new pump track in Alveston at Lime Kiln Field, Greenhill, Alveston BS35 2QX
The community project is the vision of Alveston Parish Council and has been made possible with the support of South Gloucestershire Council and Heidelberg Materials, which has donated all of the aggregates and asphalt needed from its nearby Tytherington quarry.
The pump track is suitable for bikes, scooters and skateboards and riders use their arms and legs to pump and gain momentum to carry them around the track.
The circuit, designed and built by Bristol-based Velosolutions UK, is suitable for riders of all skill levels.
Heidelberg Materials UK, which operates nearby Tytherington quarry, has donated all of the aggregates and asphalt for the project, worth more than £25,000.
