Ascension Day Sung Eucharist
St Mary's Church, Thornbury
There will be a sung Eucharist in St Mary's at 7.00pm on 9 May to celebrate the Ascension.
Because it always falls in midweek, 40 days after Easter, Ascension Day is frequently sidelined. Yet it is one of the four Principal Feasts of the Church alongside Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost. Indeed Pentecost finds its fullest meaning only in the light of the Ascension.
