CWF25 walk 20 - Wales meets England Castle to Castle
In late 2024, Thornbury proudly became an accredited Walkers are Welcome town, joining this fantastic volunteer organisation which Chepstow has been a member of since 2012. To celebrate that they are our nearest Walkers are Welcome neighbours, we’re thrilled to announce a joint walk from Tudor Thornbury Castle to Norman Chepstow Castle.
After transferring by bus to the start, we begin our walk at Thornbury Castle which is now a private Hotel but once visited by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. The route follows the Jubilee Way through lovely countryside and the village of Littleton-Upon-Severn with far reaching views across the Severn Estuary looking towards to our destination of Chepstow. We continue along the Severn Way before crossing the iconic Severn Bridge. From there, we join the Wales Coast Path, leading us to the historic Chepstow Castle which stands on a limestone cliff above the River Wye.
