Eric & Jean - The Movie

The Monday Movie Club is proud to be hosting the very first showing of ERIC & JEAN – THE MOVIE. This is the life stories of local, long-lived residents, historian Eric Garrett & much loved 98 year Olvestonian, Jean Panes.
It is produced and directed by Steve Humphries, himself an Olveston resident and a winner of many acclaimed social history documentaries for the BBC and ITV.
We are taken back through almost all of the 20th century seen through the eyes of these two characters, remembering their childhoods, the loss of parents, hardships, education, a world war and the changes our parish has endured in nearly 100 years.
Also available will be the newly published book written by Steve, “For the love of Olveston” which explores the recent history of our parish.
Everyone is welcome to the matinee on Wednesday 15th February (doors open at 7pm with the film starting at 7:30pm) in St Mary’s church, Olveston. Admission is free, though donations towards the costs involved would be welcome and there is a bar, tea and coffee.
