Come aboard for Sea Shanties at The Ship with The Severn Whalers!
Not to disappoint those who failed to get a ticket for their February performance, The Severn Whalers are rolling up once again at The Ship, Bristol Road, in Alveston on the evening of Friday 3rd May 2024 at 7.30pm. A gathering of shipmates has been convened by the Armstrong Arts Group to keep the music going and the smiles on our faces!
The Severn Whalers is a North Bristol based shanty and sea song group and performs predominantly in the area along the banks of the river Severn. They love to entertain audiences, keeping the tales of old Bristol’s seafaring alive, introducing new songs and revitalising the old. They can often be found at Shanty Festivals all around the South West from Bristol down to Penzance and all stops in between.
2023 was a fantastic year featuring highlights such as singing on the main stage at Falmouth International Shanty Festival, a first trip to the amazing Festival du Chant de Marin in Painpol France and recording a CD.
