Haven Memory Café at the URC

Haven Memory Cafe offers a warm welcome to people diagnosed with memory problems or dementia, along with a relative, friend or carer. It meets in a comfortable setting in the centre of Thornbury, in the United Reformed Church building.

It provides a welcoming social atmosphere, with tea, coffee and home-made cake, and an opportunity to chat to friends and volunteers. At each session there is a short activity, which is often musical, usually with an invitation to join in, or a demonstration or slide-show. NB The cafe is not a clinic, though there is often a Dementia Support Worker present.

The Memory Cafe usually meets on the first and third Friday mornings of each month, 10.15-11.45am. The entrance is in Chapel Street, and is accessible to mobility scooters. There is car parking around the church, although it is often busy on a Friday morning.
