The Pajama Game is a much-loved and well known, light-hearted musical, sure to bring light and laughter on a February evening. This romantic comedy is set in the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, where the employees decide to campaign for a pay rise. The fun really starts when sparks start flying between superintendent Sid Sorokin and union leader Katherine ‘Babe’ Williams. ‘Steam Heat’ and ‘Hernando’s Hideaway’ are just two of the well-known classics in the lively score by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler. The story is based on the 1953 novel ‘7½ Cents’ by Richard Bissell, who adapted it into the musical with George Abbott.
Our 2024 production of Brigadoon was a sell-out success, with leading lady Emily Harris nominated for best actress in the Rose Bowl Awards. We are sure that The Pajama Game will be just as popular, so save the dates in your diary now and be ready to buy tickets when they go on sale on Saturday 11th January (at 9.30-11.00am at Olveston Methodist Church Hall, and then from our Box Office on 01454 202011).
The Parish Players is Olveston’s local theatre group, and we stage a musical at the Parish Hall every February. If you’d like to help back stage or front of house it's not too late to get involved this year - do get in touch.
