What's on

Thursday 30th April 2020, 7.30pm

Armstrong Hall, Thornbury

The Vesta Trio was formed in 2013 at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama by flautist Alex Griffiths, viola player Lowri Thomas and harpist Megan Morris.

The musicians have enjoyed performing together ever since, with some recent performances taking place in venues such as the prestigious Dora Stoutzker Hall in Cardiff and the National Museum of Wales. They have also played for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

In 2017 the trio was accepted onto the coveted Live Music Now scheme, which was founded by the late concert violinist Yehudi Menuhin to train exceptional early career professional musicians and take them into the community to perform for older people and children with special educational needs.

They are also involved in the Music in Hospitals scheme. The Vesta Trio's classical repertoire ranges from opera favourites to Welsh folk songs, with the unusual combination of instruments creating a special sound for everyone to enjoy.
