Cake Decorating Course: An elegant vintage hatbox
The Cake School, Thornbury
10.00am - 4.00pm
This has been such a popular course and Dee of Dee's Cakes has been persuaded to run it again. There are so many skills which can be incorporated into designs for both wedding and celebration cakes. If you have been on the Absolute Beginner's Course, this offers natural progression.
During the course you will turn 3 x 6" sandwich sponges into this beautiful hatbox which means you will learn how to level and crumbcoat the cake with sharp edges. You will also learn how to create stripes and make a band for the hatbox, as well as creating the embellishments using cutters and moulds. Use of colour is important and you will use both pastes and dusts to complete your final design. Finally you will learn to ice a board and create a fabric effect.
There is a set of equipment for each person and places are limited. As it is an all-day course, lunch will be served with plentiful supplies of tea and coffee throughout the day. Dietary requirements can be catered for.
If you are interested in booking a place, please refer to the school's website below to email us.
