Heritage Open Day: Tudor Cookery at Acton Court

Acton Court hosts a costumed living history event with Tudor cookery expert Stuart Peachy who will give a talk and demonstration. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample period fare in an authentic environment.

As part of this year's Edible England theme, food historian, Stuart Peachy will explain ingredients, cooking implements and food history as he prepares authentic dishes for a Tudor feast. Following the preparations, visitors will be invited to view the banquet table laid out in the presence chamber built for the visit of King Henry VIII in 1535.

Mr. Peachy was one of the main characters in the BBC series Tales from The Green Valley and has produced a variety of educational publications, some of which will be for sale on the day.

Event times: 11.00-12:00 | 13.30-14:30 | 15.30-16:30

25 people maximum for each session.
