Cake Decorating Course: It's All About The Cake!

You have probably noticed that cakes are getting taller and there is a skill to assembling and icing them. This course is, as the name suggests, all about the cake.
You will be given five 6” round cakes which you will prepare and barrel ice, creating sharp edges. You will complete the cake with a statement rose and decorative frosting or gold leaf effect.
You do have to have some experience of icing cakes; this course is not for the complete beginner.
Everything will be provided including the five freshly baked cakes.
- Levelling a cake
- Ganaching a cake
- Dowelling a cake
- Boarding a cake
- Barrel icing
- Creating sharp edges
- Using edible colour
- Creating a statement flower using florist paste
- Using frosting or a gold leaf substitute
Places are limited on the course to ensure you receive significant help and support. As it is an all-day course, a light lunch will be served and there is a ready supply of refreshments throughout the day. We like you to feel at home and eating intolerances can be catered for.
