The Timothy Taylor's Tap Takeover
The Butcher's Hook, Thornbury
Just to be clear, we didn’t decide to host this event just for the brilliant initialism that it lends itself too. We’re better than that, and besides, we would have added “Thornbury”, probably “Tiley’s” and hosted it on a Thursday as well if we had. We decided to host this event because we love Timothy Taylor’s beer. Yes we love modern, US-inspired, hop-forward beer but we also love a classic, well-balanced British bitter. Arguably, no brewery does that better than Timothy Taylors. Their Landlord was the first cask beer that we fell in love with and we still love it today. It is a beer that has won Champion Beer of Britain a whopping four times. Landlord isn’t the only beer in the TT’s stable to have been judged Champion Beer of Britain either. In 2014 their 4% bitter Boltmaker was also judged to be the best in the country. The only problem with TT’s beers is that we just can’t get enough of them – literally! It’s very, very rare to see a beer from TT this far south that isn’t either Landlord or Boltmaker. Step up the Butcher’s Hook. On this very special evening we will showcase not only Landlord and Boltmaker but the full range of classic TT’s beers including Ram Tam, Dark Mild, Golden Best and Knowle Spring plus their most recent addition to the range, Hopical Storm. We’ll also have some of the guys from Timothy Taylors on hand to chat through their beers and what makes Timothy Taylor’s arguably the greatest cask ale breweries in the United Kingdom. It’s going to be a cracking evening!
