The Alternative Sunday Lunch
The Butcher's Hook, Thornbury
Sunday lunches in pubs are all very well and good, but the problem with most of them is that they tend to be small, private occasions rather than providing the opportunity for socialising and meeting new people. Here at the Butcher’s Hook we want to change all that.
The whole raison d’etre of wet-led pubs is to bring people together, provide a platform for folk to meet new people, make friends, form and strengthen social bonds. Build communities if you like. Our Alternative Sunday Lunches are designed to do just that.
Every Alternative Sunday Lunch we’ll be providing a smorgasboard of meats, bread, pate, dips, pickles, salads etc for everyone to tuck-in and help themselves to. We also want to draw out the cooks of Thornbury so we would like you to contribute and show us your culinary talents by bringing in your own homemade or homegrown food to share out with everyone. It could be anything from homemade bread to quiches to pies to pickles - anything that could be put on the table for people to share and enjoy.
There will be donation pot with a suggested donation of £6 per person with all profits from our Alternative Sunday Lunches going to local charities. We hope you can join us for a Sunday lunch with a difference. Lunch will be on the table from 1pm.
