Second Thornbury Jazz Festival

Armstrong Hall Complex

Tickets for the second Thornbury Jazz Festival which will take place on 23rd March 2019 are now on sale at Thornbury Town Hall.

In addition to the headline act of The Royals playing upbeat takes on jazz classics with acclaimed singer Emily Wright backed by George Cooper (piano), Matt Hopkins (guitar) and Will Harris (double bass) followed by The Boulevard Big Band, the evening will commence with a flourish at 6pm with the young talented jazz musicians of our area performing in the South Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra, a big band playing Glen Miller favourites and Count Basie arrangements.

Next up will be The Jenner Jazz Quartet with standards from the Great American Songbook, Latin America and much else, beautifully arranged for this versatile and imaginative quartet of seasoned jazz musicians: Gareth Williams (flute and saxes), Ben Hughes-Games (piano), Jim Pimpernell (double bass) and Jim Sanders (drums).

A great evening's entertainment with bar and hot food available, part of the fund raising in aid of the Armstrong Hall Redevelopment Project Book tickets (£20 for the whole evening's concert) and food (£7 a head) at Thornbury Town Hall or phone 01454 412272 for information.
