Thornbury Orchestra Concert
Castle School, Thornbury
Thornbury’s local Symphony Orchestra (The Thornbury Orchestra) will be holding the latest in their successful series of concerts.
The programme will include a mix of animal themed music including Die Fledermaus Overture by Strauss, the ‘Cunning Little Vixen’ suite (Janacek) and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ (Coates).
The concert is in aid of the The Lemur Foundation, which supports the conservation of Madagascar Lemurs, and there will a short talk from a representative of the foundation during the concert.
Entry for children & young adults is free and adults charged at £8. Tickets are available on the door or from any of the Orchestra members. Full details of this and future concerts are available on the Orchestra website below.
The orchestra is conducted by Chris Hill and has been providing entertainment in South Gloucestershire since 2002. The most recent concert in June 2019 was a feast of sea-themed music complete with a sea-themed calligraphy exhibition. The Orchestra comprises talented local musicians and is always happy to hear from interested players.
