An Evening with Four Classically Trained Voices
Cossham Hall, Thornbury
Four post graduate students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff will take time off from their studies to perform in Thornbury accompanied on piano by fellow graduate Emma Cayeux.
Thornbury educated and concert favourite from previous years, Aaron Homes (Baritone) will lead the concert along with Cristina Negoescu (Mezzo), Margaret Daly (Soprano) and Huw Evans (Tenor).
The concert given by these four young, talented singers will feature well known and much loved pieces and will include the enchanting ‘Flower duet’ from Delibes’ opera Lakme (Soprano and Mezzo Duet), the 'Quarrel Scene' from Britten’s atmospheric Midsummer Night's Dream (Quartet), ‘Prenderò quel brunettino’ from Mozart’s opera Cosi Fan Tutte (Soprano and Mezzo Duet), ‘La ci darem’ from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni (Soprano and Baritone Duet), ‘Avant de quitter ces lieux’ from Gounod’s opera Faust (Baritone), ‘Virtue, says Holy Writ’ from Britten’s comic opera Albert Herring (Baritone) in addition to other solo pieces and duets.
This is an exciting opportunity to appreciate the talent of outstanding performers who may one day appear at the highest level of our national musical heritage.
Tickets to include interval finger food, £11 each (£5 for under 18s), can be obtained from The Town Hall, Thornbury Baptist Church or by calling 01454 412272. Any proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Armstrong Hall Redevelopment Project (Phase 1).
