Thornbury Geology Group
The Chantry, Thornbury
Thornbury Geology Group returns to The Chantry after a short refreshing summer break.
Our first topic for the evening will be “Trap Rocks and William Smith’s Maps”, exploring both the rock formations and the ground breaking maps of the 19th century. This will be followed by a short film and discussion about Connemara Marble.
The group is open to all interested in geology and new members, beginners and experts are equally welcome. No annual subscription, modest charge on the night.
Further monthly meetings, always the third Thursday of the month, will feature more geology from Scotland, reports from members’ field trips and world-wide geological topics.
