An Evening of Channel Swimming and Watery Music
Cossham Hall, Thornbury
Did you know? More people have climbed Everest than have swum the English Channel.
Join us for a fun evening of talk, music and cake - suitable for all ages.
Professor Andy Wolf retired from a career in medicine last year and is proudly the oldest man to swim the English Channel last year. He will talk about the trials and tribulations of training for and completing his epic swim. An official channel swim requires swimming in cold water for 12 to 20 hours without a wetsuit and with the additional complications of shipping, strong wind, waves and swimming at night.
Andy's talk will be interspersed with live music on the theme of water from local musicians and the opportunity to enjoy some lovely homemade cakes.
Andy’s swim and this event raise funds for revolutionary 3D printing technology for cardiac surgery at the Bristol Children's Hospital which Andy helped pioneer. Every penny of the profits from the evening will be heading directly to the Bristol Children's Hospital.
Tickets £6.50. Click below to book via Eventbrite.
Children are very welcome and don’t need a ticket but let us know so we can save space for them. More information from 01454 857110.
