The Crossways Schools

This role is part time, permanent, all year round, 6 hours per day with a split shift.

Crossways Infant and Junior Schools together form The Crossways Schools Federation. Crossways is a happy, popular and successful community with a positive ethos. We have children who are enthusiastic, a caring and dedicated staff, supportive parents and a committed governing body.

Our site is extensive and pleasant and includes two large play grounds, large fields adjoining both playgrounds and a variety of play equipment. The school site is split between two main buildings consisting of 14 classrooms with two school halls, and two small external buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to work in a school, where the work they undertake is not only recognised by the staff and children but by the community who attend the various evening lettings/events held in the buildings.

We require a Caretaker/Handyperson. The successful candidate will be responsible for the security, maintenance, heating and health & safety of the school premises with some grounds maintenance required. You should be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to duties, the ability to work with a wide range of people and be willing to support the activities of the school.

30 hours per week, Monday-Friday all year round. 6 hours per day with a split shift- 7.00-10.00am and 3.30-6.30pm. (Hours may be negotiable - to be discussed at interview)

Caretaker Salary grade – Hay 11 (£15,239 - £15,544 per annum)

The person appointed will need to:
•Take a pride in their work
•Be able to use their initiative and prioritise
•Be able to carry out everyday DIY to a good standard
•Be aware of health and safety issues
